NPC to install new pulp machine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nippon Paper Chemicals Co., Ltd. (President: Toshio Inoue) will install a new pulp machine at its Gotsu Mill (location: Gotsu, Shimane Prefecture). As the sole producer of dissolving pulp in Japan, NPC has been supplying domestic and overseas manufacturers of rayon and cellophane with product in bale (sheet) form. This new machine, however, can produce dissolving pulp in roll (web) form and NPC will offer this product for cellulose derivatives and specialty cellulose applications, a market that has yet to be developed.

The total capital investment connected with this installation is 6.3 billion yen. Completion is scheduled for the autumn of 2011.
